Juan and Katie Weekend
We’re happy to welcome back Katie Cobalt to Hong kong for this upcoming weekend workshop. And with her, she is bringing the fabulous Juan Villafane. Together they are promising an amazing weekend of learning and dancing as we bring you 8 hours of workshops and 2 socials with DJs and Live music.

Juan Villafane
Juan Villafañe is a world-renowned swing dancer, teacher, performer, and producer specialized in Lindy Hop and Authentic Jazz. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he has dedicated over 20 years of his life to the world of dance, leaving an indelible mark through his captivating performances, exceptional teaching skills, visionary production work, and his commitment to building a vibrant dance culture and community.

Dancer’s Don’t Need To Know More Steps: How to use your repetoire to “illustrate” any song with your movement.
Jam Session: Jams can be intimidating, so let’s break them down and make them approachable. How, when & where to participate in this very important part of the tradition. Learn, share ideas, express yourself and enjoy the experience of dancing in a cypher.

The Lead Follow Matrix: A methodical approach to master “partnered dance moves”. This challenging but revealing class will help you make sense of the myriad of possibilities, expand your repertoire and refine your “lead-follow” technique.
Rhythm Is Our Business (Part 1): Mastering rhythm variations and applying it into your dancing to create your own footwork and/or swing out variations to match the melody, hit the breaks and add rhythm ideas.

Express Yourself: Dance is magic for giving us the opportunity to express ourselves. But what comes first, the moves or the feeling? Let’s explore how intention can make our dancing sparkle. And find our own personal style and way of moving.
LEVEL
All classes are OPEN LEVEL with a few minimum requirements.
For Swing Workshops, you should know how to Swingout and some basic Charleston.
There will be CHALLENGE material for the more experienced students in class.

A mega social at the amazing Studio 9. Dress up for a night out with performances, LIVE MUSIC by NATE WONG’S SWING DYNASTY, and of course, lots of dancing. Come and enjoy the glamour of Hong Kong’s largest dance ballroom.
Even if you miss the workshops, this night is not to be missed, we promise you’ll have a good time.
SPOOKY HALLOWEEN SPECIAL at DANCETRINITY
