WORKSHOP LEVELS

What colour am I?

If you’re unsure about what level you should sign up for, here are some guidelines.

Red Levels require an audition to ensure people are fairly placed and to have a constructive class environment.

BLUE

You’ve been introduced to the Swingout, Charleston, and connection ideas. You might even have had a go with some solo jazz and learnt how to do the SHIM SHAM.

HSF might be your very first festival and you are exciting about seeing how much fun you can have at a Swing Weekend.

PURPLE

You can Swingout at faster tempos and that Kick-Step is feeling very natural. You may know a few Solo Jazz routines but are keen to add more vocabulary and practicing with improvising on your own.

You might have been to a few festivals by now and are excited to see what HSF can bring to your dance life.

Note that due to limited Blue Workshop attendence, the workshop will be rearranged to combine BLUE and PURPLE levels. RED level will still require an audition. But Blue and Purple will be open to all.

RED

You can Swing Dance at any tempo and have great communication with your dance partner. You can improvise confidently with Solo Jazz and you know all the popular solo routines.

There aren’t enough festivals for you to go to. And HSF is just one more on a long list of events you want to try.
